Acoustic, Classical & Electric Guitar
(ages 6 & up)

Guitar playing requires a fair amount of pressure on the fingertips from pressing the strings. Children under 6 generally have small hands and may find playing uncomfortable. Our students learn to read music, play chords and learn scales. They also learn solo playing, accompaniment, improvisation and finger picking. A guitar for home practice is essential.

Suggested duration
of guitar classes
Ages 6 to10 -- 30 minutes
Ages 10 to 14 -- 45 minutes
Ages 14 & up -- 60 minutes
