Clarinet (ages 8 & up)

Our private clarinet and saxophone lessons start from age 8 onwards. Earlier than age 8, a student typically does not have the lung capacity and strength to handle these instruments. Our clarinet and saxophone instructors are proficient on both instruments so a student can start with clarinet lessons if they wish and switch to saxophone lessons without having to change instructors. Our saxophone and clarinet instructors actively perform in all types of bands and ensembles and as soloists.

The clarinet is a musical instrument of the woodwind family. The clarinet is both a family of instruments and a single instrument that belongs to the single reed group of woodwinds, which also includes saxophones. Clarinets are used in both orchestras and bands, and featured in Klezmer music, woodwind quintets, wind ensembles, and woodwind choirs.

Ages 8 to10 -- 30 minutes
Ages 10 to 14 -- 45 minutes
Ages 14 & up -- 60 minutes
